West is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of West was 2,890. The city is located in the heart of Central Texas, approximately 20 miles north of Waco and 120 miles south of Dallas. West was named for T.M. West, who donated the land for the townsite.
